Is setting up a personal web site for your resume a good idea?

During your job search, you might limit yourself to Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube or horror of horrors, just your email resume.

Be proactive, take charge of what potential employers may find on Google by registering  a domain name (preferably your personal name) and creating your own simple web page that contains an expanded resume, with links to download in MS Word and PDF formats.
